The Peer Education
on Sexual/Reproductive Health (SH/RH) project
developed by Youth Association for Habitat,
Turkey Family Health and Planning Agency and the
Local Agenda 21 Program is funded and supported
by the European Commission.
The project’s target group is youth between the
ages of 15-24 years old. The SH/RH Advocacy for
Youth project has the objective of increasing
the knowledge of this group on SH/RH issues and
their access to services.
Project activities are carried out by local
youth councils in the provinces of Adana,
Diyarbakır, Çanakkale and Yalova. The main
activities of the project are; peer education,
setting up peer to peer drop-in centers and
advocacy training on SH/RH; advocacy campaigns
are conducted in all the project provinces.
Within the SH/RH Advocacy for Youth Project, 80
volunteer young persons received trainees
training and 8000 young people received
trainings on SH/RH. In addition the project
reached many more people through friends and
family members of the volunteer youth trainers.
