European Conference on Youth Mobility, Belgrad, 8-10 May 2009
The Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sport and EURO<26 Serbia organized the European Conference on Youth Mobility between 8th and 10th of May 2009 in Belgrade. Governmental representatives and Youth Card representatives from Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey attended to the Conference and discussed youth mobility within the framework of Council of Europe Partial Agreement on Youth Card. On behalf of Youth Association for Habitat, Elif Memiş participated to the Conference.
In the meeting, participants were informed about Partial Agreement on Youth Card by Tina Mulcahy from Council of Europe and presentations were made on promotion of the card and the use of the card as a mobility and research tool among young people. Besides, workshops were organized on four different subjects: Increasing visibility of the Youth Card, lobbying strategies for participation of government to the Partial Agreement on Youth Card, Tools for increasing youth mobility and Strategies for discounts. During those workshops, participants from governmental institutions and civil society organizations had chance to discuss and share experiences.
